The Museum has an extensive permanent collection that is exhibited in eight rotating galleries plus two changing exhibition galleries with five traveling exhibitions presented throughout the year. Diverse programming is scheduled for all ages and interest levels including, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, children's camps, film series, social activities, plays and community partnerships designed to educate and entertain.

Mission

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art commits to excellence in visual arts education, fosters aesthetic, critical and ethical think as a bridge to the future and nurtures interest in 20th century art history by collecting, preserving and exhibiting the art of Abraham Rattner, Esther Gentle, Allen Leepa and their contemporaries. Further, the Museum strives to inspire, engage, educate and serve the diversity of our community and individuals of all ages.

History

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art opened in an award-winning, architecturally significant building in January of 2002 on the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College.

Artifact Collections

The permanent collection is comprised of more than 5000 objects including paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, tapestries, stained glass and other media by Abraham Rattner, Esther Gentle, Allen Leepa and their contemporaries. The Museum also has an extensive 20th century print collection.

Programs

The Museum offers various educational and entertaining programming designed to attract Museum visitors of all ages. Regular programming includes a monthly lecture series, On the Easel, which features a piece from the collection or on loan to the Museum; monthly opera videos are shown, a monthly book club is open to members and docent training is every Friday morning. Workshops, lectures and gallery guides are offered to supplement exhibitions. Summer camps and family workshops are scheduled for children. Docent tours are offered every Sunday at 2 pm at no cost.
